History Updates for 12/17/2017

Category : Website Updates

Over the last few months I’ve been going through my grandmother’s collection of Estling artifacts.  I’ve found newsletters from the 80s, videos from the 50th anniversary, and a variety of articles and stories that she used for song services.  I’ve been slowly importing all these items and will start to post them over the next several months.  In addition, Mark Livingston shared audio recordings of Dick Thorne being interviewed by Al Livingston (Mark’s father).  I’ve posted a few of these on our History page already and there will be more to come.  If you have something that you think would be interesting to share, please reach out and I’ll work with you to get the items added to the archive.

Website Updates for 12/17/2017

Here are a few updates to the web site that you may find interesting:

Tina Frost

Category : General

Tina Frost, Rich’s oldest daughter, was shot in the concert madness in Las Vegas the night before last.  A bullet went through her right eye.  She is in the ICU with Rich and her mom present.  As Rich has posted on Facebook, Tina’s process of recovery will be more of a marathon than a sprint as even minor brain injuries are unpredictable.  Rich then adds, but “Tina is a great runner and very strong”.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tina, Rich and the entire family.  I will provide an update when the family wishes.

Reminders and Updates for 9/16/2017

The water will be shut off on Saturday, October 28th at 10AM.  I’ll be reaching out to our usual group of dedicated volunteers in a few weeks to confirm the meet up.  The water will be turned back on Saturday, April 14th, 2018.

For the website, there is a new addition on the History page.  Many of you have a printed copy of Estling Lake – Then and Now, published by Doris Edwards, and it is now available on our web site in PDF form.  I’ll be working on many updates to the History page over the off season, as I have found a great collection of Estling Lake documents and memorabilia from my grandmother, Nancy Saulter.  Feel free to reach out if you have other items from our Estling history that would be interesting to share.
